I haven't been on the ice, but drive across the west dam frequently. The ice looks blotchy. Not sure if that means it's getting soft in the lighter areas or what.

Attached photo was taken on the 16th.

Early in the week the ice was melting and there was an open water hole in the middle of the E section of the lake. On the south side we have not seen the sun for the past 3 days due to the fog, and I imagine it is frozen again. Temperatures have been in the upper 20s, night and day, for 3 days. I haven't seen any ice fishermen at the lower dam yet this year. The lake is 16' low, so that puts the ice a ways out from the normal shoreline.

When I fished the Caldwell dam I had to carry my stuff down the stairs, and the bank, walked out a ways and I was still only in 9' of water.

I think I'll do the other dam when I can make it next.

Also, does the west Nampa ramp really get locked up at 5:30? Every time I think I should head out there I look at the clock and decide I've waited too long.
