4th trip for Rockport.

Headed out to RP in this terrible weather. For sure I hate hauling my gear in fresh powder snow. Just a quick report. Caught 15-20 bows 12-14" and one 16" few perch nibbled on the bottom but basically all of the fish were biting light not comparing the other trips I've made . Had a few big guns on and come off right at the hole. Ice is 16" thick edges are about 1-2 ft of thin weak ice with at least 1" thick. Snowed a good 2-3" of fresh snow and about 4" of snow in total on the lake right now.

There were just about 4 groups on the lake the whole day but they basically left after fishing 2-3 hrs then the whole lake for my self. Looks like RP is treating my really nice this year especially on the ice [angelic].

Just a helpful tip. If you have your sled full from the bottom to the top wrap a sleeping bag and tuck it in really tight. No more problems with loosing fishing gear.

Glad you had a good catching day again. Yep new snow is tough to drag a sled through

Yup it just looks like my spot is always giving a nice trip comparing for the other people on the lake. I'm truly happy I bought new auger blades made the 16" of ice cut through like butter.

Hope you had a good trip because most people from the past few trips only stayed for a few hrs when i'd make a 8-12 hr trip because the fishing was just to good to leave for me. Just got to love productive fishing spots but the walking is long [laugh].

Fishing sucked. Saw a lot of fish. Just no takers.

Sounds like I'm the only one on the form that always had great or decent success at RP.
