Update/edit to post: I have a 97 Mariner 125 h 2 stroke motor (OG568369) and the last trip of my season the oil alarm starting going off "beep beep beep". It had full oil. So now that I've pulled the boat out this spring I decided to start digging into it. I drained the oil tank and removed it. When I tip the tank upside down the alarm stops, when I turn the tank right side up, the alarm stops, is this a float or sensor issue?

Isn't the sensor connected to the float?

I believe so. It looks like you can replace the sensor seperately, whereas if the float is bad you have to replace the whole oil tank.

The float gets heavy and saturated with oil and settles to the bottom of the tank so the tank will need to replaced in order to repair the problem.
