Got a pig today
#1
Fished out of Callville for a couple hours today. Got my best bass of the year on a jig. What a fight - peeling drag and all.
Wife stole my scale, so it's all guesses on weight. She swam away healthy.

Great catch Whizzle ,I also went out up north on the same day to a spot i camp and caught the biggest Bass i had ever pulled out of Mead . A 5.3 lbs , 21" Whopper 14" girth , i caught it just a few feet off shore, no great story of a fight just and instant "Holy $%!#" pulled her on shore took some pics which i will ad soon. It was the same size as my kayak paddle. I caught it on a white crankbait just sliced it in front of its path and it went mouth down hard in knee deep water.
SO EXCITING ! look i am a FISH NUT already and this may have the wife committing my butt to the funny farm. Super stoked and Thankful for that odd day off that took me to my spot where people were already at , and having to find a new place to park & launch kayak now also not in water as early as i wanted to be , forgetting my sandwich and deciding to paddle back to my truck have lunch at noon , and then right after said sandwich half way thru my dr.pepper i catch my BIGGEST LMB ever aside from just the biggest fish i have seen up close out of mead. Was it meant to be ? for all these things to happen so that i walk right up in the little cove that this thing was cruising ? I'm not sure either but I do know they do really really do exist and i can catch em !

Good job!

That doesn't look like squid rigs you normally use for bait. Looks more like a squid head or a small kraken.
