Cut the carp up and use him for bait.

That carp is in pieces and soaking. How can a person kill a carp quick and humane - this dude refused to die. We are now just South if the launch area. Any more suggestions?

Just got home from the same area 15 min. ago (11:00). Caught a few last week in front of the first spring but nothing today. Also nothing at the mouth of Benji slough. Headed for Bird Island and got in to them right away. Caught four in the 24 - 26 inch range and then the wind scared me off. Caught 'em on carp meat and small white bass. Water was colder than last week?? 27.5 degrees last week and 55 -56 today. Colder weather predicted for the rest of this week so I plan to hold off for a few days. Look for action to turn on big time when water temp moves closer to mid- 60s,

Good luck.

Oops, sorry. I should have said channel cats. There were some big carp out there too. Would of tried for one if I had a worm. I need more/fresh carp for bait. The carp clusters will start soon and I can get 'em by the boat load with a fish arrow then.

Saw three guys in what looked like a flat bottom boat fishing close to the reeds by the pump house (south of the launch channel). Didn't see them catch any. Tried there last week in about a foot of water but nothing.

Need more sunny days!!BLK

Thanks, I caught a pretty nice channel cat the other night inside the harbor while fishing for panfish. It was probably about 18-20". Kind of funny he/she wolfed down a little one inch jig! Good luck to ya...RW
