Thanks for the info I wouldn't mind catching a bass or some blue gill, trout not so much I have caught so many in my life time to feed the whole country! What would you use to catch smallies I imagine that large mouth bass wouldn't be present in the snake. Any other lakes or ponds in hagerman that would better my chances of catching something else other then trout?

Welcome to BFT. Sorry, but most of what is currently open in that area is the river and some trout areas. The Hagerman WMA has some bass ponds, but the bass areas there don't open until July 1. Oster Lakes, Riley Pond, Riley Cr, and Billingsley Cr are open but they are mostly trout.
Further away above Twin Falls is Dierke Lake. It is close to the Shoshone Falls Overlook. It has trout, bass, and bluegills.
Good luck.

I would also add that Derkies has catfish. I know that the water above the Twin Falls Dam is fishing super well right now for bass. I know a couple guys that are catching over 50 a day there but not getting much for size. Ron

Trout, largemouth, smallmouth, carp, suckers, chubs, squawfish, mud cat, channel cat, bluegill, tilapia and sturgeon are all possible but fishing from the dock is not to promising. The cats are in salmon falls creek, the sturgeon and largemouth are in front of blue heart springs. If you can access the old gravel pit ponds they are full of bass and bluegill. Drive up to the Anderson ponds, Riley creek and the oster lakes. Make sure you check to see what's open in the regs. Nice bass below lower salmon dam on the west side, above the dam go to buckeye cove, check the regs it's closed to harvest til July, but you can fish. Welcome to Idaho!
A canoe works well in the Hagerman valley. Biggest channel cat I ever saw was caught in the creek at miracle hot springs by a kid with a night crawler.

Right next to sligars pool. Simplot dug them when they built the highway. They've been fenced in, but you can get access if you ask. Fish and game planted fish there for years. When I was a kid, my Pop called them the retirement ponds. Spent many a day there testing tackle.
