Middle or lower Weber?
#1
Anyone been fishing either? Lower (in canyon) Middle (below Rockport) and which has the better water and fishing? Haven't hit that river in long time and just need a point, thanks!

For the last 4-5 months I have been doing really well on the lower weber. The Morgan area is my favorite. But mtn green and the Peterson exit have all been producing pretty well. It's a little high and muddy currently, certainly not unfishable but a little tricker. Think big and bright, or streamers are a good choice now too. The caddis are getting ready to break through on the middle. A buddy did really well last week with smaller caddis larva. You will start seeing some pretty good dry action in a couple weeks. Up that way I usually start at the wanship exit and work my way down. There is a dirt road that is parallel with the highway that has access points all along the road. It's all pretty good. My best flies have always been red copper johns, sow bugs, caddis larva and rainbow warriors.

If you're trying to catch a big whitefish I'd hit the lower Weber. The higher up toward Echo the better. Whities over 20 inches aren't too hard to find by Hennefer now that they're releasing water from Echo. Whities are more quality than quantity than down by Morgan. So just be prepared to wade through far more trout to find the whities there. If flows are going up and staying above 250-300 cfs I'd stick with the middle.

I only need one Whitey, easy way to get inches for the contest Smile and upgrade my Brown, Weeb is always a good spot for those two goals.

the middle has been good going on a month or so now, you shouldnt have a problem getting into fish.
I might head today after work and see how the flows are doing.

Thanks for the info folks, I think I will hit the Weeb early and scratch of a Whitey and Brown then zip to EC and try for a Crappie and maybe a Smallie.
