What a great Indian summer crappie fishing day that Rickylove2fish and I had today. We started around 8:00 and fished until a little bit after 2:00 pm. 41 keepers and about 30 shorts or more. 3 spotted bass, 1 largemouth bass, 1 yellow perch, 2 bluegills, 2 white bass, and one of my pet Drum. Awesome day. What made it so good was the fact that while we were scouting and about ready to call it a day, we found a big stump on a river channel drop and it had several big crappie on it that probably hasn't seen a lure in a long time. We were able to cull several times from this school.

We started off back in the creek on a dock and caught 8 keepers and 3 or 4 shorts. Then we moved out to the point on the river and finished out 2 limits before moving. We hit several different spots, some good, some not so good, and finally found that great spot. I'm not giving out co-ordinates. emoBigSmile

We fished with 1/16 oz jig heads with various plastics. Patriot was a hot color along with MM Minnow Minders. I tried Panfish Assassin Dappers, (no bites), another bait and I forgot the maker of it. Only one fish on that one. Ricky tried several colors. We had good snacks to go along with the good fishing. It was a great day. Thanks for going with me today, Ricky. We will do this again someday.

Pic heavy.

emoBigSmile emoGeezer

Some pics of the work that is underway on the HBSP ramp.
