Otter Creek 1/3/15

Got a late start today. Arrived at the lake around 10 am. Got some rods in the water and it wasnt long and the fish where bitting pretty steady until about 1230 and things slowed way down. Ice was 6 plus inches..Lots of of folks on the lake today and it appeared that everyone was doing some catching..
our best fish was 19 1/2 inches and weighted 4.2 lbs. We had several in the 20 inch class just didn't have the girth...
I had Taylor pose with my fish...Along with some other young men in our group...

Glad you had some success. I almost made the 3 hour drive to Otter yesterday but it didn't work out. I had a few friends who went and when I texted to ask how it was he replied with "Slow". =)

I'm in Cedar City so not so much of a drive for us.
Saturday was for sure a early morning bite. If you got there late is was a slow pick.
The Alpha spots were taken up with Ice tents when we pulled up. I had to go with plan B. Which was still decent for us. We had over 10 fish in about the first hour or so with our group. lost a huge Male Rainbow that broke off as it was coming out of the ice. Big disappointment for an 8 yr old.

The quality of fish at Otter is hard to beat.
So I should be there about once a week until the ice is off.

Nice fish! My girlfriend and I when up this afternoon for a couple hours. Pretty slow, only landed a couple.

I fished the lake yesterday (sunday). Fishing was very slow. We did catch 12 fish between 3 of us. Two of the fish were over 3 pounds. Don't know why it was so slow, but was still worth the drive up. It was cold in the morning, but was 45 degrees when we left and no wind all day.

I fished it this past fall during the deer hunt, yes there is some nice rainbows in that lake.
