There is no cost to enter a team or to compete as an individual. Contests will be held for youth boys, youth girls and for both women and men. The focus is to have fun, remove as many perch as possible from Fish Lake, to help with over population issues, introduce youth to the outdoors, and to reward fisherman for coming to the lake and assisting with the perch reduction conservation project.

I should have mentioned that you will be required to have a valid Utah fishing license.

The some prizes will all be awarded based on the number perch and other prizes be awarded on the most pounds of perch. I'll get a list of the contests posted here, in the next few days.

Sorry I wasn't able to reply. Sounds like they want to get out 10,000 perch in one day. Hoping if they get 200 people and they all get 50 perch, they got it. I'm just hoping the ice is enough to hold this many people at once.

They will not be restricting the perch fishing to any specific area of the lake, spreading a couple of hundred people across 5 miles of lake shore shouldn't put any undue pressure on any particular location on the lake. Perch are dispersed along the entire shore line, from Doctor Creek on the south, clear to the parking lot and outhouse north of Bower Haven Resort. The registration will be held at the Twin Creeks Parking lot but after that fisherman can disperse any where on the lake.

They will be announcing tournament activities throughout the day on Channel 4.3 on 2-Way Hand Held Radios, be sure and bring yours so you can hear the announcements, no matter where on the Lake you might be fishing.

I would love to go but after thinking in the end and cleaning 50,75, or even over 100 perch is to much for my hands to clean up[:/].

Aw Shucks, let me show how it's done with an electric knife. No muss, no fuss! Whip right through those tasty little rascals. Boil them up, mix them into your cocktail sauce, dice up a little celery, add a dash of thin sliced green onion, put out the crackers and there's nothing better.

Or beer batter them up and deep fry them, like deep fried shrimp.

I like to brush mine up with some olive oil, put on the bar-b-que until they turn white, brush a light coating of Hickey BBQ sauce over each one and heat until it's lightly glazed over. Mix about 20 of them into a tossed salad with dressing and get right after it.

See you at Fish Lake, January 24th.
