Anderson Coho

Has anyone caught or heard anything about Anderson ranch coho? They should be bigger this year. Any reports or tips would be great. Thank you.

There are no coho in Anderson Ranch. I assume you are talking about chinook. They are running about 19". Mike

There are some Pics on another board that indicate there are also some that are still in the 13-15 inch range. Hope folks can differentiate the species and turn those loose so they can grow and execute the original intent which was to control the Kokanee population so they can get bigger size.

Kokanee or sockeye salmon have been planted there for 30+ years. We used to snag em up by baumgarner. Last year they planted chinook. Don't know a thing about catching in the lake, but they sure make some nice smallmouth bass. We're going there on May 2 for a club tournament. Someone always catches one over 5 lbs, maybe we'll get a 6 this year.

Never seen Anderson till a few weeks ago I had no idea it was that big. There were some photos floating around Facebook last week that had a photo of 3 of them looking to be in the 4 pound range (chinook). Might have to get up there this summer and give it a try. Is leaded line enough or is a down rigger a necessity ?

Tia was there 2 weeks ago and we caught two. Both were about 18 inch long and tasty

I started fishing Kokanee in 1970 at Anderson there were quite a few in the 16 to 18 inch range. Use to see the river run red up to Featherville and beyond, pretty neat site for a young lad from Wis. [fishin]
