The paper lists the water level at AF as 18%. Does anyone know if you can launch from the dock by the dam? Any body catching smallies by the dam face?

Typicality the canals go dry around October 1st, then the water will come up thru the winter. Right now is the time to bass fish at massacre and walcott. Milner will turn on as the flow stops. Need some water this year to stirup the river for the sturgeon.

May try Massacre Monday and Tuesday. Haven't been there before. Go up river and around the island. What works this time of year? Drop shot minnow, tubes in crawfish color, wacky rigged worms on a drop shot?

Last week was a crank bait bite, rattle traps, color didn't seem to matter, fish rocks.

Just returned from three days at Massacre Rock. Monday we caught one 18" smallie. Lost another one with a line break on six pound florocarbon. The next two days we put in 9 hours on the water and didn't have a strike. The one fish was caught on a rattle trap in silver black. We used a whole array of lures and techniques with no avail. The water was muddy stained and quite a few weeds floating. Fish must have been off bite. May have to go to Brownlee to get into the action.

Nasty colored water all the way to milner dam. Caught a 4.7 at walcott on Monday and some really nice trout.

I wish they could keep it above 15%. It would make a huge difference in the carry over for trout. We loose too many through the turbine, at low water levels and warm temps. It discourages my excitement for AF spring Bite!
