My Important 1-Second Rule Of Casting!
#1
"I trip the spinner's bail roughly 1-second before the bubble or lure hits the water. This allows the mainline & leader line to stretch-out just before water contact. During the bubble/lure's flight the leader line is pushed back by wind resistance till it either contacts, crosses or tangles with the mainline. This unwanted contact creates knots which can greatly weaken the strength of the leader line.

Your only recourse is to change that knotted leader line once damage has been done. If you continue to use a knotted line the knots are weak points that can snap during a hook-up. This is humbug when whipping floats & lures or plugging poppers on slippery rocks/cliffs or in the dark of night. Following my 1-second rule will help eliminate this unwanted situation".
