Some of us that fish Willard have marine radios and monitor channel 16 but talking on it too long will get you a warning from the state park folks, because it's suppose to be used for emergency only. Once we contact each other we usually go to another channel to talk but that depends on the operator. Years ago we use to use channel 10 but that was long ago.
Hey TinCan, if you don't want a regular marine radio, try buying one of those hand held models, they would great for a smaller boat.
