"What I find is odd lack of Wipers I've caught this year. Thought I read somewhere that Wipers haven't been stocked in 3 years at Willard. Do they plan on letting the Wiper population die off at Willard? "
The lake is being managed. There have been ups and downs in water levels and that has affected shad spawns and recruitment. In short, there have been more mouths to feed than there were baby shad to feed them. So DWR has reduced plantings to try to get the predator/prey ratio back in balance.
I am attaching a copy of last year's DWR report on Willard. That should provide more factual info than heresay or "read somewhere".
