Got off night shift around 7am, and decided to do the red eye no sleep ice trip so the day wasn’t wasted. Headed out with another friend from work to the Ladders, got there around 9:30am, temp was 24 degrees, no wind, and the ice was 12” thick. Hardly any snow, cleats are advised. Had 14 hits, landed 4 cutts, and one 20” rainbow. Two cutts at the 14” & 14.25” mark, and two at 17-18”. Wax worms and ice flie and 1” white tubes with chub meat was the ticket for us. Fishing in 25-30’ of water marked the most fish on the finder. Temp was 43 when we left at 2:30pm. Good luck this weekend for those going out, and be safe!
