Hey Jeff, go and do a night fishing excursion to the spot I told you about that is down river from your dads place. I don't do well there during daylight hours, but night time is a totally different beast. This time of year they come up out of the channel and hunt on the shallow flats immediately adjacent to the channel and it is usually good for a dozen or so per trip. I like to fish it between 9:30 and 1:00 am at the latest (unless the fishing is on fire!).
That spot on the river by your dads place usually starts to taper off for anything decent for me after the spawn until late August or early September, but it still kicks out a decent one every now and then, but the numbers of larger ones seems to go down a bit.
If you can't remember the spot, PM me and I'll tell you the spot again.
