Hey Burley, Like TubeDude said, the DWR is our friend, not the enemy. Most of what they do, they do for we the anglers. They're not perfect but I think they do a very good job trying to satisfy a very diverse group of fishermen with the resources they have.
They are always more than willing to share information and tips if you just ask.
Another thing to keep in mind, they know fish but not necessarily how to catch them.[
