Spent a couple hours after work at a new fish pond. I've drivin past Newton a few times, but never had my tackle with me. This day I finally was prepared. Picked a little spot on the bank and tossed out a crawler and bubble trying for bait while I got the other rod ready. Didn't take long for my fish first, a footlong largemouth. After that, the action was steady for all the small bluegill and perch one could stand, with a couple crappie mixed in. Took an hour to finally get my second rig in the water. I put a small piece of perch on in hopes of a tiger musky finding it. No luck, but it did catch a few more lmb and more perch. Nothing fancy for tackle, just used a small float with an inch of crawler or perch meat 10" below. Should be pretty easy fishin if you have youngsters that need some fishy love.
