Precisely what obifishkenobi said. Places close to easy access are fished really hard and as a result the catching gets slower; especially, as the season progresses. Also, the close areas have a lot of noise on the ice, from the crowds of people fishing and the machines driving across the ice. Lots of noise does not attract fish. The catching is almost always better away from the crowds. Also, I have many places that have treated me well from my boat, in the late fall, and they are usually still good for the ice fishing season.[url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/community/community.cgi?do=user_page;pg=user_profile_view.html;username=obifishkenobi"]
