Ditto what  jig_fisher said. Have made 10 or 11 trips to the Bear River so far. Closest I got to a fish was a freshly caught and cut up carp that was left on the bank, and then a nice 27 inch Cat I netted for John, about 3 days before the contest started
Weather is improving, and plan  to put the boat on the river Saturday.  See if we can get at least some carp for bait.
Seems just about every other body of water that I frequent is closed to non-residents of that particular county. Davis county parks and community ponds are closed. This season gonna be a bit late getting started for me. If it starts at all.
