A fair number of crappie said hello, but no size and no perch or gills.I had assumed that the perch would probably not come into the marina this year because of the lower water levels. They usually prefer at least 11-12 feet...and the harbor is no more than a little over 8 feet...some a lot shallower. But, I did get a report from one BFTer last week of catching some perch right off the end of one of the docks in about 7' of water. However, those perch do roam around a lot. Last year there were some spots that were hot one day and no love any time thereafter. Seek and ye shall find...maybe. Stay in one place where there are no fish and you are guaranteed the stinky kitty award.
That is sure a nice Willard perch. Hope they start waking up soon.
Got some updated intel last night that there are still perch to be had outside...but that they are on a brief midday bite. No love before about 11 am and not much after 3. I left about 11 so that might have been a reason for not catching any more. Last year there was often a good bite right at sunup and then more sporadic through the rest of the day.
My prediction is that we are entering a weather pattern change and it is going to get the water temps down into "perch preferred" range.
As you well know "Ya cain't ketch 'em where they ain't". It is usually a "biblical system" thing on most trips. "Seek and ye shall find." Maybe.

Wife wouldn’t let me go fish so maybe next time if I get these hands to quit hurting. Maybe next week I’ll be back to normal. Congrats on a nice perch. Later JSorry about the hands. Hope you are able to get some relief and get back to the important things in life...like fishing.
