Tip with chub meat if you have it. Otherwise, they eat worms too. And if you have some white gulp minnows even better.
Howsomever, if you are in the boat you might try motoring over to the west side. There is a deeper area parallel to the rock dike that sometimes holds more of the "other guys" during low water, cold water and ice conditions.
