How were you fishing? Jigging, trolling, etc?

 We were jigging primarily. 

You should try a method that a lot of use use, it's called fligging. We slow troll the fligs we get from TubeDude at .5 mph, using cut bait. Just a few weeks ago and last month before it froze up we caught them vertical jigging but that did not work for us on Fri when we were out there.

I've seen those videos by tubedude. Does he sell his creations?

Yes he does and well worth the money IMO. They are around a buck apiece.
