The further north I went the bigger the waves grew... by the time I hit cisco the waves were close to two footers... I was going to bag it, but my brother talked me into putting my waders on and going and take a look... Well I stood in the waves on a rock while the waves from mid calf to waist level splashed by me and got my coat wet enough that the wind froze me stiff... 45 minutes on the rock and not a fish to be seen, so we bagged it, but as I talked to Mike he told me to try the community pond on the way home... That was a great suggestion, my niece hadn't ever been ice fishing so we trudged through the 2' snow drifts and got on the pond... I punched 5 holes and had a fish on in less than 30 seconds, so the crew came over and I gave them all a pole and it wasn't long and everyone had fish on... We ended up with two Quad catches with four fish landed at the same time, lots of triples and doubles... It was really fun, my niece had a great experience with ice fishing... Thanks Mike... Probably got a dozen fish each, from 6-14" ers... Wind came up and sent us to breakfast, made a great trip out of a bust... Appreciate your tip... Jeff

Hey Jeff,Glad you were able to salvage the trip! That pond is always easy ice fishing! Better luck next year for the Cisco and I'll drop in and update if the lake freezes thick enough to fish on.  Last night was 15-18 below zero, so it is skimmed up about everywhere now and just might get thick enough if we can avoid any wind for a week.
