Panguitch Ice-off
#1
We got up to Panguitch this last weekend for some ice-off action, and as usual...it did not disappoint! It was a balmy 27 degrees when we arrived by the dam catching bows consistently in the 14-18" range until the wind picked up too much that we could not longer feel our fingers, so we had to go in search of a new bank protected from the wind. We found such a bank, and man...what a good move it ended up being! We started nailing the bigger bows, cutts and tigers! It really caught fire from about 10am - 1pm, then did the usual slow down. We stopped counting...my daughter caught her personal best cutt at 21", and we all caught the grand slam multiple times over. Just one of those memorable days, which seem to happen to us often at Panguitch. Looks like it's going to be a great year up there with tons of water filling it up currently! Water clarity wasn't bad by the dam, but obviously much more murky near the headwaters. Beautiful day!
