For trolling, I would be curious to see what guys are doing to side or rear-mount their transducers. I've seen some very ungainly setups, and very few that I like.
The bigger your screen, the better. You don't want to be squinting at a 9" screen trying to see what is going on.
I mounted my livescope transducer on a pole on the starboard side near the captain seat so I can turn it to scan forward, sideways and to the rear as desired. We'll see how it works, just got the system all installed, haven't had a chance to get it on the water.
