Please pm me.That venue (that the Vets enjoyed to the max) went away several years ago due to the VA Therapy Office in Salt Lake City refusing to support it in any way, shape, or form. The SLC Therapy Department Manager, told us they were being directed from above to no longer support activities outside the hospital. I'm a disabled Vet myself and helped get the activity started when a BFT Member suggested we do that. It was an excellent activity that gave a great deal of joy to both the Veterans and the Volunteers. I was very sorry to see it go away.
It was a great program and the fly tying was a hit as well. I’m unsure if the fly tying is still going on. My dream is to get healthy enough to take service members/disabled vets and first responders on free fishing trips to the gorge and local places. It’s just a dream now but charities like that have done well in other states.
