Finally made it to Lost Creek
#1
Got up early, arrived in the dark. 11 degrees. Tried to drive over to the ramp, thought it would be easier to get on. I only got 1/2 way, then turned around. It had not been plowed and the vehicle tracks stopped. So I returned to parking lot by the dam. I tried to get on by the way I'm used to, a trail around the backside of the parking lot. Nope, when I got to the edge the spud bar went through out at least 5 feet with one hit. Turned around and pulled that heavy sled back up to the parking lot. I walked down just below the parking lot near the dam, checked and was only a couple of feet of soft. So back up to retrieve the sled, then back down to get on. Whew!

Once on, just a little slush maybe a couple of inches below a crust, but fairly easy walking. I did the marathon and walked clear to the back. 1.5 miles each way.

Fishing was slow. Not much coming through, but most at least would bite when they did. White tube tipped with chub worked. Most fish were cruising 10 to 15 under the ice, but also caught them on the bottom in 48 ft.

Caught 4 species. Rainbows, cutthroat, tiger trout and splake. Most were splake. A couple were in the slot, but most were below. Biggest about 17 inch bow.

It warmed up nice when the sun came out. While walking out I did see 2 other fisherman fishing together, but that was it. No others on the lake. Ice was about 18-20" thick, with the top 5 inches frozen snow, the rest clear ice. I was back at the truck and on my way at 12.

No pictures today. Just not much size to them.
