Whats the best Fishfinder for the Money?
#17
What is the best fishfinder for the money? My vote? The best you can afford. Just like everything else you get what you pay for. The $200 units don't compare in quality or features with the $500 units or the $500 units to the $750 units. You need to figure out what you can afford and then try out the units that fit your budget.

The only way to find out what the best unit is you can afford is to play with them. If you don't know a thing about sonar, take someone you know has a clue and go to a place like sportsman's and push some buttons. They'll have all the units set up and you can run the simulators and check out all the features you think you need. Don't be afraid to nab a salesman and question him down one side and then the other. Have him show you all the features, If he can't, get a salesman who can. Just some words to the wise? Don't ever think a unit is too good for you or you'll never use a piticular function. Believe me, you will if you've got it and you'll find a way to use it to your advantage.
