Plastic Swimbaits and Calico Bass

i can rember taking a trip out to catalina one day we had plenty of brown bait i walk up to the bait tank and there was the biggest herring i have ever seen 13" long at least looked way to big to use so i toss a ca couple of smaller one and catch a couple of 2-3pound bass go in to the gally and eat breakfest when i come back out this thing is still swimming around i kid you not it was there for over 30 min. nobody would use it because it was so big so i figure what the hell hook it on a 25# outfit and toss it out i let this thing swim around for at least 10-15 min with no bite reel it in and cast out again another 10 min. go by with no bite so again i reel it in and cast out 5 min. later i get a hard pick up let it run and set the hook this bass shook its head three times and snapped the 25# line like thread ! now that was a bass i would have loved to get to the boat
