fished the strawberry river with my dad and bro today. started right near the pinnacles and worked our way up the river. used small spinners and jigs. catches were few and far between but not a bad day of fishin at all. my bro caught one fat healthy brown about 16" and my dad caught three little dinks. and i won the big fish of the day contest with a brown pushing 20" very fat and healthy also cught one scrawny brown about 15" that was about it when it came to catching but i bet we saw at least half a dozen fish that were over or pushing 20" really neat

what factors affect the way a trout is colored?
the largest brown i caught today lacked the familar blue halos im so used to seeing and i was wondering why that might be?
