Nice report. I know what you mean about 5 year olds. I have a grandaughter that is 5 also, that is why I take her to Maybey pond to fish alot of little blue gills in there to keep her busy. I have a grandson that will be 3 soon and he has his own fishing pole, we just haven't gotten brave enough to put a hook on the end yet. But he does know you need something. If we don't put something on the end he gets really upset, so we usually put a small weight so he can try to cast it.
As for the man who wouldn't ask for help, at least you tried. I on the other hand welcome any help I can get. It is to that you didn't get a chance to help those girls get a fish. The best times I have had fishing is when you see the look on someones face hook into a fish that hasn't done that before.You can tell by the look that they are HOOKED.
