the fishing has been slow the last couple weeks in south east michigan, well at least from shore. I did manage to hook in to one walleye only to loose it as it broke water. I have pulled in a few white suckers drum perch and gills, only a couple half sized bass.
slim pickens at best. I have talked to a few tackle shops, other than the slow economy slowing down the sale of bait, the regulars are still coming in weekly for bait with out fail regardless to how the bite is. it seems the I like the rest are in it for the escape more than the Mc. fish sandwiches.
One of the old timers tells me he think the problem is the cold temps for the month of july and he has concerns we may not have a real summer to speak of. he is also woried about an early salmon season. He says that he rembers a similar situation years past when the salmon came in stageringly as aposed to the solid runs of good weather changes we normaly have from worm to cold.
