I took my son, his girl friend and my brother from Alaska up to Willard on Saturday Aug 7. We launched about 5:00 pm and fished until dusk. I hate to say it but we only caught 2 wipers. We fished the west dike on the North end trolling rapalas, spinners, and rattle traps. Caught one on the spinner and one on the rattle trap. Going out of the launch we stayed to close to the green bouy and hung up on the hump. It was'nt to much of a problem. Coming back in we stayed closer to the red bouy and were fine. Both times I watched the depth on the finder and brought the motor up when it got too shallow. I have a 16' tri-hull. Loading the boat was a little tricky because of the slope of the ramp.
