There is a positive to everything!! The bilge should be flushed out every now and again. Your method is a little bit harder to do than the standard garden hose at home! Just teasing ya!!

I too have done the (forgot the drain plug) thing. Just be thankfull you got to shallower water and did not have a worse of a problem.
