Recent Fishing Reports for New Mexico
#4
SANTA CRUZ There were no reports from anglers this past week.
SHUREE PONDS Good trout fishing reports again this past week for anglers
using olive wooly buggers, spinners and stimulators. Anglers are reminded
that these are special trout waters with one pond reserved for anglers under
age 12.
SPRINGER Plenty of water but very light fishing pressure on this water. Some
good size catfish were taken on cut bait and chicken liver but there were no
reports on other species.
STORRIE LAKE Fishing was slow for all species.
STUBBLEFIELD Mixed reports this past week with a few bass taken on crank
baits and a few catfish taken on liver and dough bait. No reports on other
species.
UTE LAKE Most anglers were still going deep this week for white bass and
walleye. Most of the fish were taken at depths of 18-to-30 feet and most
were caught on spinner/worm and spinner/minnow combinations. A few good size
smallmouth bass were taken by anglers using crank baits, jerk baits and drop
shot rigs fished off main lake points. Anglers fishing over baited holes
with liver and night crawlers took home some good size catfish.
