Recent Flyfishing Reports
#21
Grand Ronde River - September 24th, 2004

FISHING: Good
Sept 24: The Grande Ronde steelhead run is earlier than normal this year, thanks to a large fish run and good/cool water flows. We have heard reports of a few steelhead caught near Troy on almost a daily basis for the past few weeks. Steelhead numbers increase as you move downstream, in Washington, to the Snake River. Bill at Bogan's Oasis reports fly fishers are "having lots of fun" -- catching nice numbers of trout and bass along with the occasional steelhead. On their days off, our guides are pounding the water with surface flies -- the true calling of the Grande Ronde steelhead flyfisher. Don't wait too long to book an October trip with our guide service -- this could be one of the best fall Grande Ronde steelhead years, in years.
