Just a quick report...
Spent the morning yesterday in the 10,000 islands fly fishing for reds, snook and tarpon...
Conditions were excellent, but my inaugural saltwater flyfishing excursion was mostly educational rather than productive...hooked one medium snook and 1 nice red. Lost the snook at the boat and lost the red to an oyster bar.
The fish appeared to be just off the shoreline, a little out of sight range, so that the only indication they were there was a mud puff under the bow...
Stopped at a canal a little later after we set foot on land, and hooked up a few small tarpon on fly, my first..using a deceiver (blue and white).
Great time...
Good luck and tight lines..
