A friend of mine asked a guy "in the know" about who makes their fly rods. My friend suspected a close likeness to G Loomis and the guy wouldn't say for sure but gave a give-away 
at the accusation.
That may or may not be completely accurate but whatever I know several high-end anglers who like Cabela's rods.
