Well, much thanks to Sockeyeslayer even though we did not ever hook up or see each other due to bad weather and wind. But we had great fishing. We got to the the gorge last Saturday and had a great day fishing for kokes, lakers and rainbows. We pulled in about 15 kokes and some lakers and rainbows in about 4 hours. We then got blown off the lake. The next couple of days we went after the big boys down deep with jigs and boy did we catch some nice ones. I have a picture of my 28 lb. Big Mac Laker. Wow, what a rush to catch one of these 20 year old fish. I truly believe we should not keep these big fish because it takes them so many years to get that big. Just keep all the 3 - 5 pounders guys, let the big ones go so others can catch them.
Anyway, the fishing was amazing but the weather was not. If only we could have fished all day everyday. Out of 4 days at the gorge we only spent about half the time on the water. Well, we are all dying to get back there. By the way, the kokes are fat and sassy and way fun to catch and wonderful to eat. Hey, Sockeyeslayer, I caught my first koke on a nut and my first fish on a criplelure. Thanks for all the tips. Love the double sling rig. Hope to see you there next time.
