I can't believe that there are two of us that give equal (and maybe even a little more) respect to the channel cats over the walleye. As far as a fighting fish cats win hands down, and because I am often a catch and release type of guy give me the fish that gives me the most fight (and catfish have a tummy more like mine -- so I can relate to them easier). Now -- those mudcats are another story -- their purpose in life is to steal bait before the channels have a chance to bite, but they do perform a good role as an easy fish for the kids to catch.
