Where should I Fish in Cache Valley?
#3
It matters what you are fishing for and how you want to fish. If you want catfish and warm water species there is the Bear River and Cutler reservior just West of Logan. There is also Newton on the extreme Northwest side of the valley that has crappie, perch, bass, catfish and tiger muskie. If it is trout you are after then the Logan and Blacksmith fork rivers are a good option. There are also kokanee salmon and trout in Porcupine Reservior to the East of Paradise that sits in the Southernmost portion of Cache Valley. There are many places nearby, just have fun and go exploring. The flyfishing and spinfishing can be excellent on the Logan right through town and up the canyon. This was my favorite spot when I lived there for a short time many years ago. Although I did have a lot of fun jigging off of second point at Bear Lake in my float tube. Good luck.
