It all depends on the time of day. Contrary to some people's popular beliefs I have caught more rainbows in deeper water and the cutthroats in the shallows. You will have to try both places to see what works. The other day we got on the water at about 7:30 and didn't get a bite until 9:30 and the fishing was hot for two hours. Some times I cast in close to shore and some times I cast way out to try to get deeper. Different days and different times of day change what you have to do. Try both. If one is not working try doing something else. Good luck.
