New Jersey Angler Lands Record Slab
#1
TRENTON, NJ—The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife has certified a new state record white crappie that was caught on Leonard’s Lake in Salem County June 13. Tim Durand’s 2-pound, 11-ounce slab weighed 1 ounce more than the previous record caught in 1997.

In related news, a Texas largemouth bass caught on Lake Alan Henry by 11-year-old Kenny Schuette has been officially recognized as a new junior state record by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
