where would a man go to get crappie?
#16
[cool][#0000ff]There are springs entering Utah Lake in several places around the lake. The best known and most often fished ones are at Lincoln Beach. There are at least three easily identifiable main springs, and several minor ones. The "first spring" is the deepest, usually has the greatest flow and is most popular with those who like to take advantage of their fish magnet qualities.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The attached picture was taken in December '04, just before the lake level began rising again, after several years of drought. You can see the "bowl" formed by the spring. When the warmer water was flowing well, several species of fish either came right inside the bowl, or grouped up just at the outflow channel.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The rocks around that first spring are now from 3-6 feet underwater, and the depth of the "bowl" is up to 9 feet deep. The flow is currently very low and the thermal attraction is not enough to make it a good spot to get schooling fish. [/#0000ff]
