This is the first time in the last 16 years that I've seen Pelican ice free this time of year. So, no I've never fished it when it's open and this cold. I know right before ice up it's gets to be super tough fishing.

Bullock was never drained. It still has rainbows, smallmouth and tiger musky. Cottonwood was partially restocked. A small number of adult smallmouth were transferred last summer. More will be planted this year, however it will likely take years for the smallmouth to reestablish. Also, you can drive into all the Diamond lakes still and Crouse and Calder have been restocked and are fishing well.
