About 15 years ago I started expermenting with GID shrimp flies for rockfish in SanDiego, I used some flytieing stuff called Glow in the dark Flashabou, the trick is on the deepwater fish is to not over load the fly with too much if it's too bright it wont work.
The flies worked great in deep water and at nite.[
