I found this technique by accident but It works like a champ. Talk your wife into putting out a birdfeeder. As the birds eat the seed, some of the seed will fall to the ground. In about a month the ground under the feeder will be full of worms/nightcrawlers. This is especially good because you get different sizes of worms. The seed we use is thistle and the worms love it as well as the birds. Remember to pick an area that gets watered regularly and is out of the full sun.
