generic trout flys
#3
Hey bass dude, what are you doing over here!!! Just kidding. I'm an avid fly fisher and I tie most of my own flies. There are literally thousands of fly patterns out there but most of them are variations of a handfull of basic patterns. Here are some pictures of a few of the more popular dryfly patterns: http://www.troutflies.com/pictures/_drys.shtml

As far as nymphs go, Pheasant Tail, Hares ear, Prince, and Copper Johns are some local favorites: http://www.troutflies.com/pictures/_nymphs.shtml

Not sure if you are aware, but fly fishing for bass has become increasingly more popular over the last several years. I have not caught any warmwater fish on the fly yet, but it is something I plan on doing this season. Oh yeah, since you asked, and it is such an important, productive pattern (and a personal favorite) here is everything you ever wanted to know about the adams dry fly: http://business.virgin.net/english.flyfishingshop/dry-adams.html

Hope you enjoy! [Wink]
